(no subject)

Okay, Universe, we were *kidding* when we said it'd be a riot if we had a hurricane for Erin's visit.

Way too early to tell anything, but there's not a projected path on there that doesn't take it across Cuba, and land is always a weakening factor. Plus, it's a Cat 1 right now, so it's pretty weak, and it's crossing land, like, immediately. So we'll just have to see what happens. I think we're set, aside from buying more water and possibly some charcoal, and, of course, making ice.

Yeesh. I'll be watching WINK all week, then.

hurricane (or not) update

Ernesto's a tropical storm again. Haiti apparently weakened it. Then tomorrow it's got a little time to upgrade again before it crosses Cuba, which should also weaken it. I have no idea how much, though, and then it hits the Gulf, which is warm. So we'll see what happens, as usual. That is the blessing and the curse of hurricanes.

We haven't heard from the in-laws yet, which surprises me. Usually they know about this stuff before we do. :)
