One way to tell I'm a mom: I now consider the kitchen clean if the counters are clear and there's nothing edible on the floor. If the floor is covered with plastic containers and various utensils, the kitchen is still clean.

One way I think I can tell I'm an adult: I've realized not only that I can't control everything, but that knowing this won't stop me from trying, and I'm always going to be annoyed about it (lack of control and the trying to control stuff, both).
