"Xander, don't taunt the fear demon."
"Why, can it hurt me?"
"No, it's just ... tacky."
Okay, I'm done.
Music class today, after missing last week due to the Zweeble's cold. He was much more subdued and observant this time, overall, though he did jump and help me tap rhythm. Oh, and he grabbed a full-sized tamborine and shook the heck out of it. They have frogs made by the kids in the preschool all over the walls, and towards the end he was more into the frogs than the class.
I think it was partly that he was tired--he had a rough night--and partly that there weren't as many kids his age/size in the regular class (as opposed to the preview class). And the other kids were all kind of used to each other, and some were related to each other, so that might have been going on, too (or it may have only been affecting me).
I think he still had fun, though. His favorite part was the long line of handkerchiefs tied together that everyone garbbed onto, then we conga'd through the whole rec center. He grabbed onto that thing and hung on with serious concentration; whenever we'd stop or pause, he'd bounce. He was the only kid who held the line the whole time--I was the only mom who didn't have it at the end when we stood in a circle and ran in and out. He loved that. :)
