I didn't actually *find* Buffy until partway through the first season. I did like Firefly right away, but they pre-empted it so many times I forgot to actually watch when it was on.
Yeah, both of these first two episodes were things Criminal Minds has done recently--and I'm sorry, but I don't think police procedurals are Joss's oevre. :) I'm really kind of hoping this will get flipped around within a couple of weeks and turn into something else.
