Rick Decker, serial killer, has phoned Barbara and Paul Ryan to offer his expertise in curing the poisoning of Paul's wife, Meg (as well as various other people connected to Rick).
So Barbara hangs up, takes Paul aside, tells him what Decker's offering.
Paul: "Why would he do that?"
Barbara: "Probably because he's the one who poisoned them all."
Paul: "So we kill him."
Barbara: "Later, yes. But first we hire him."
Completely conversationally. Like they're chatting over coffee. And it makes total sense. This is James Stenbeck's ex-wife and son. (James Stenbeck being the unkillable Uber-villain of AtWT. See DiMera, Stefano; Hutchins, Carl; Thorpe, Roger; probably if I watched any ABC soaps I'd know some more.) Dude's put them through so many mind-games and trauma, they're both more than slightly loony and have been for years.
The big cliffhanger of the day was Decker telling Barbara and Paul that his price was for them to get him out of prison. I'm really hoping that on Monday the scene ends with them agreeing, since they're just going to kill him for poisoning Meg in the first place once he's given them the cure.
And I more than half-expect Decker to be working for James ... but we shall see.
