seldneiDay 12 – Whatever Tickles Your Fancy
What, again? And looking over the list, here, I'm feeling like whoever created this thing was doing a bit of padding with all of these "tickles your fancy" days.
So what's ... you know, I can't bring myself to say it again. So what have I been thinking about? Probably the last episode of this season.
This season was a really cohesive season of Doctor Who. We've had the overarching storylines since the series started up again, but this is really the first season where I felt like every episode had something crucial to do with the finale. (Especially the weeping angels eps, obviously.) Which was cool. Plus, there are still a couple of hanging threads to play with next season (he mentions a couple, but all I remember is the silence).
I loved watching the Doctor pop in and out of everything. I loved the fez. I think he should just start wearing a fez. It can't be any sillier than the John Pertwee cape. Okay, fine, maybe it can be--so let him wear a fez for, like, three episodes to really annoy Amy. Rory can get behind him on the fez issue, and they can bully her into dealing with it.
And speaking of Rory--OH MY GOD. I don't think I'll be crushing on Eleven, but I am definitely starting to crush on Rory. Amy Pond has good taste.
And how happy am I that Rory and Amy got married and left with the Doctor?! Okay, if I love Donna for being my age and not all goopy over the Doctor, I love Amy and Rory for being married and going off to have adventures, together, with the Doctor. This is not Rose and Mickey. Which is good, because part of what kept me from really liking Rose was how she treated Mickey. I like that Amy loves Rory. I like it that she seems to get such a kick out of having him there. And I like it that he's there. Amy and the Doctor are a lot alike--they need someone to occasionally rein them in.
